Proxy Configuration in the Global Zone



Persistent proxies must be defined in an image using the proxy as described previously, Configuring Manual installed images adding and updating software. If a proxy configuration persistent is not used and the environment http proxy and https proxy are still used to access the repositories where the command is executed, the system-repository services must also be configured to use these same proxy service properties via repository system.


Access to repositories configured in the global zone is granted to non-global zones through system-repository service. Any update of new fresh proxies from the global zone is automatically applied to the system-configuration repository. With this method, no modification of system-repository service is required.


You can also configure the new fresh proxies used by the system-repository service overwriting any proxies’ configured publishers in the global zone. System-repository proxies can be set using properties configuration / http proxy or configuration / https proxy.


Proxy configuration in the global zone


You can configure the proxy directly in the global zone. All updates to proxies from the global zone are automatically applied to the system-configuration repository. Service repository system requires no modifications.


Proxy overwrite system-repository using https proxy and http proxy


It is recommended to set proxies in an image and define only the proxy system-repository service. Proxies’ https proxy and http proxy should be set in the environment when the command is executed.


The procedures in this section to define proxies in the service repository system owned sub-internal network do not have a direct connection to the repository IPS publishers. The use of this procedure overwrites all proxies configured using the command in the global zone. Non-global zones communicate with system-repository via HTTP. Then, system-repository access to publishers using the protocol of this standard, as configured in the global zone.
