The premium quality of proxies is an inherent quality that fits in the situation of the service. This is more an observation than a quality that must be developed.
However, if we focus on this point is that this quality is only slightly exploited. But we see that this quality proxy leads to a potential which is not developed at this time. This is justifying the use of this inherent quality that we introduce new services in the proxy. In addition, it strengthens and supports the development of other qualities.
Perceptivity proxies have been used so far for caching. Initially limited to identifying the documents and statistics to access them from a community users for font replacement type LFU (Least Frequently Used) or
LRU (Last Recently Used), it is somewhat extended to other properties document type, size, etc… We call the different characteristics that perceives
Proxy dimensions of its perceptual space. These are either inherent documents or induced by the use of the community of users of the proxy which brings us back to that premium quality.
To refine cache management, we try to extend the dimensions accessible based in particular on the location of the document semantics induced the URL and the relative position of the induced document links. In addition, this space perception is information that is not an explicit part of the documents, but however that may be relevant. This information is currently used for cache management, which we intend to make them usable by users thanks to the addition of proxy services.
One of the first duties of new fresh proxies is to accelerate the apparent speed of the network.
In this context, the acquisition of new dimensions cannot be done expense of transfer speed of queries and documents through the proxy.
We do not therefore consider process as heavy analysis semantic content of the documents. For cons, the Semantic Web brings us meaning in ways that are much more “visible”. By exploiting this information, so we can expand the perception of new proxy dimensions that relate to the management of knowledge in the Web space, thanks to ontology. We call this new perception which means ownership passive knowledge as we have defined before.
Finally, as we have already noted, the rapid development of Web generates lot of conflicting needs. Proxies, in their classical form, have the struggling to adapt to these changes and we are obliged to note that more and more problems arise and different solutions are proposed. In this context, in order to respond quickly to mismatches between the proxy and new concepts while maintaining a unified solution, we want to add flexibility in the design of new fresh proxies.
